Today&rsquo;s world is characterised by swift, unexpected changes and complex interdependencies. Traditional organisational structures built on effectiveness and streamlining predictable procedures are no longer suitable for dealing with these new issues.<\/p>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le r\u00f4le du leader devient la cr\u00e9ation d&rsquo;un environnement plus large au lieu de la microgestion de type commandement et contr\u00f4le.<\/p>\n<cite>General Stanley McChrystal &#8211; Team of Teams<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">General McChrystal led the US Joint Special Operations Task Force to counter Al Qaeda&rsquo;s growing threat in Iraq. It was forced to drastically alter its operational paradigm. Surprisingly, the management style changed, not tactics or new technology.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since the Industrial Revolution, most industries have adopted management doctrines inspired by or comparable to Frederick Taylor&rsquo;s \u00ab\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Scientific_management\" target=\"_blank\" data-schema-attribute=\"mentions\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Scientific Management<\/a>\u00ab\u00a0. A system that is excellent for achieving highly efficient execution of known, repeatable processes at scale. This organisational culture is not exclusive to the military. Despite this strategy&rsquo;s effectiveness throughout the twentieth century, we realised in 2004 that it had limitations. Similar to the Maginot Line, which the French employed during World War II, it proved unable to deal with a new wave of threats. Efficiency no longer suffices.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Recognising that a mental model is only a representation of reality rather than reality itself is essential.
